Must Know Statistics Of Website Design Usability [Infographic]

Lately, I have been hooked onto this inspirational Hostgator waiting room ad.

It goes like this,

“We have ideas living somewhere in the back of our minds, some are great, others questionable, but the only truly bad ideas are the ones that are never realized.”

There is some tremendous amount of wisdom in these lines. This is the age of the internet, and today we have a lot of opportunities, and everyone has equal chances to makes millions of dollars online even without having tons of dollars. All you need to have is an idea that aims to bring a solution to a certain problem.

But this isn’t easy as it seems. Once you come up with a great idea, there are only two ways to make your idea successful.

The solution you are providing is fairly cheap, low cost and affordable

The solution is comfortable, easy to use and provides a seamless experience to the user.

According to Neil Patel, a web solution must be easy to use and affordable. However, if that’s not possible, it has to be one way or the other. If the solution you are providing is neither affordable nor easy to use, there are very little chances that people are going to use it. This is the point where usability comes into action. It is one of the most important factors that determine the success of a website. Today, users want more control over the websites and prefer ease over price and affordability. This means an eCommerce store that is easy to use but expensive has more chances of being successful than the one that is comparatively cheap but unfriendly.
How to Enhance Website Usability?

There are hundreds of factors that govern the usability of a website. However, simplicity, ease of use and naturalness in conjunction with visual attractiveness is what brings positive user experience.

Today, customers have a wide range of options available and can abandon a website relentlessly if it fails to meet his demands and expectations. This is the reason why only a few websites are able to succeed in this intense competition. An intelligently designed web interface not only provides ideal user experience but also brings a lot of traffic, conversions, and revenues.

This is a basic five-way to guide to make your website user-friendly,

1. Get the Aesthetics Done

Contrary to the ordinary cliché that, “appearances are deceptive” the truth of the digital world is that “38% of the internet users will stop engaging with a website if they find the web layout unattractive”. Some web developers undermine the importance of aesthetics, but the fact is that it is an integral part of usability.

2. Understand Your Target Audience

Analyze and interpret the behavior of your target audience. It is important to understand the demands and expectations of the people you are targeting and design the website as per their needs and behavior.

3. Ensure a Lightning Fast Speed

In the infographic below compiled by Go-Gulf, a web development company Dubai, you can see that “47 of users expect a web page to load in less than 2 seconds”. So your website’s loading speed must be optimal.

4. Mobile Friendly

This is the age of multi-device content consumption and users want a seamless experience across all viewports. Today, more people access internet on mobile phones than desktops, so a mobile friendly web design is no longer an option, it’s a must-have.

5. Provide Clear Call to Actions

70% of small business websites don’t have clear call to actions. This is why they fail to achieve the desired goals. CTA’s is an important part of usability that must not be ignored.
