Ulster Bank Business Women Can Event - 3rd March

Three formidable women are sharing the stage at our next Business Women Can event in Dogpatchlab this Thursday.

Niamh Bushnell, Dublin Commissioner for Start-Ups

Niamh Bushnell is Dublin’s first Commissioner for Startups, a role created as a result of the Activating Dublin report spearheaded by Dublin Chamber of Commerce and Dublin City Council.  The position has been funded privately through the DCU Ryan Academy for Entrepreneurs.

At the highest level, Niamh’s mission as Commissioner is to develop a voice, an image and a platform for Dublin as a great startup city, nationally and internationally.  She will work in conjunction with Dublin City Council, Enterprise Ireland, Dublin’s universities and Local Enterprise Offices to promote and maximise the potential of the city’s startup ecosystem.

Niamh is the co-founder of IDIRUS, a purpose built peer to peer networking and mentor matching platform.  Prior to her appointment as Startup Commissioner, Niamh was the Entrepreneur in Residence at Talent Tech in New York City.  She is also an angel investor and mentor at Entrepreneurs Roundtable Accelerator in New York (ERANYC).

Helen Flynn, KonnectAgain

Helen Flynn is the Co-founder and CTO of KonnectAgain.  After graduating from University College Cork with a Business Information System degree in 2013 she knew the “normal route” wasn’t for her.  She had previously worked on building an application that was centred around connecting people, which is a passion of hers so when she met her co-founder Jayne and heard about the idea to connect people globally it was a perfect fit.  Since then KonnectAgain has gone on to raise money from some amazing angels and Enterprise Ireland, grow its team to 9 people in 2 offices, Dublin and San Francisco and most importantly built a product that is being used to connect ex-employees back with their companies around the world.

Majella Crennan, Philip Lee

Majella Crennan is an associate in the Corporate and Commercial Department of leading business law firm Philip Lee.  She specialises in mergers and acquisitions, private equity funding for high potential start-up companies, VC funding, company law, intellectual property, data protection, corporate governance and commercial contracts.  Majella has experience in all aspects of corporate law with particular emphasis on venture capital investments and early stage companies receiving equity investments from Institutional Investors, Angel Investors and other Venture Capital Funds.
