Start-Up Story: Darlington Consulting

While I admit I am not trying to save the world, I am trying my best to save workers in Ireland from being injured or killed - I am one of those often misunderstood health and safety consultants - (sometimes called insultants).

I partner with my customers big and small, commercial and not for profit to achieve one main aim - to allow their staff to work at whatever it is they do, but to do it in a way that enables them to go home at the end of their shift with all their bits intact - bits include important parts of the body like hands, fingers, legs, eyes, ears etc.

How Darlington Consulting started

Preventing injuries at work is entirely doable and my business informs, coaches and trains managers and others to do just that. Remember that all work-related risks are man made - we don't have to worry about earthquakes and typhoons here, thankfully, so all the work we ask staff to do is designed by other human beings who sometimes forget the hazards they create and then don't control.

So my passion is the health , safety and welfare of all workers in Ireland. I began my life as a self-employed consultant in 1996 after 8+ years in industry and my work takes me all over the country, working with genuine people who want to get the job done but will work with me to do it safely.

My business is based in Waterford but I operate nationally. I believe that through my work since 1996 I have saved people from injuries and deaths but many of them do not realise that. I want to continue to do what I do as I believe in it and and passionate about it.
