The next Dublin Chamber Momentum event for businesses takes place Thursday 21st March in Dogpatch Labs. We asked the Chamber to tell us a bit about the upcoming event:

What is Momentum?

Momentum is a series of four breakfast events and a continuation of the successful Momentum Summit conferences that Dublin Chamber has run since 2015. The aim of the series is to give Dublin Chamber members and Ulster Bank customers an opportunity to learn from Dublin based start-ups and entrepreneurs that have successfully scaled their businesses.

What do you expect attendees to get out of the event?

The focus of the events is on sharing learnings and insights under the theme of Build, Scale & Grow. Previous speakers have included

David Maxwell, Managing Director, Boojum

David Maxwell is the managing director of Mexican fast casual food brand Boojum. In less than 4 years the company has grown from five locations and 120 staff to what will be 20 locations across a number of stores with 600 staff. Maxwell has targeted the brand at a core market of young professionals and students aged 18-40, with the disposable income and desire to eat out regularly in the evening but also requiring speedy delivery at lunchtime. With outlets in Belfast, Dublin, Galway, Limerick and Cork, Maxwell is now targeting Britain.

Jennifer Rock, CEO & Founder, The Skin Nerd

Jennifer Rock is an award-winning skin lecturer and multi-award winning facialist. She is the exclusive skin and beauty expert for TV3’s Ireland AM and the skin editor at Irish Country Magazine. She is seen regularly on Xposé, heard on Newstalk, Today FM, Sunshine Radio, 2fm, Q102, and has written and contributed to numerous publications nationwide including The Independent, The Times, The Sunday Business Post, Stellar, Irish Tatler, Goss.ie, U Magazine and Image Magazine, to name but a few.

Kevin Maughan, CEO & Co-founder, UrbanVolt

With a background in corporate finance, Kevin and two his co-founders Declan Barrett and Graham Deane created UrbanVolt in order to make sustainability easy for all businesses. Removing all financial barriers, the company carries out energy efficiency projects for zero capital cost while also reducing energy usage and energy cost.

Previous to UrbanVolt, Kevin founded Novaerus in 2010 which became one of the fastest growing medical device companies in Ireland. Kevin took Novaerus from start-up to $40M+ valuation in 36 months and was responsible for establishing both the American market and building a successful 28+ distributor sales channel across Europe.

His previous positions include CEO of Caterpillar Ireland and Director of Merrill Lynch’s Financial Advisory Centres in EMEA.
