Meet The Buyer Event

‘Tendering’ and ‘Public Procurement’ has been getting some bad press recently but it is vital that small businesses are not put off competing for potentially lucrative public procurement contracts. With the flexibility, value for money and innovative solutions offered by small businesses, they are often best placed to meet the demands of buyers in the public sector.

Too valuable to be ignored

It is no secret that tendering can require a substantial resource within an organisation, which is particularly tough on small businesses, but with the public procurement market on the island of Ireland worth a staggering £10 billion, it is definitely worth putting the effort in.

Meet The Buyer Event

There is a lot of support available to help SMEs to increase their understanding of how the market works, as well as helping them make important contacts with the key buyers across the island.

InterTradeIreland, with its partner organisations, is holding two ‘Meet the Buyer’ events later this year – Friday 13 September in Belfast (Ramada) and Thursday 17 October in Dublin (City West Hotel).

Why should I attend a ‘Meet the Buyer’ event?

These FREE events will give SMEs an overview of the all-island public procurement market and provide workshops outlining key tips and techniques of what makes a successful tender. They will also give SMEs the opportunity to meet directly with public sector buyers from across the island, giving you a valuable insight into their specific requirements and buying process.

You will also be able to get advice on funding and supports available from InterTradeIreland and other key business agencies including Invest Northern Ireland, Enterprise Ireland, Central Procurement Directorate (CPD), National Procurement Service and the Strategic Investment Board.
