Irish Exporters Association Roundtable Discussion Sligo 28th March

Ulster Bank was pleased to support the Irish Exporters Association 2018 Supply Chain Roundtable in Sligo.

I was delighted to attend the Sligo roundtable discussion on Wednesday 28th March, which was the latest in a series of 8 regional events being held around the country.  This series is being run by the IEA in partnership with Ulster Bank, Rhenus Logistics & Iarnród Eireann Irish Rail.

The Sligo event was entitled ‘Securing the Interests of Irish Exporters in the North-West’ and was hosted in The Building Block, an innovative and exciting new focal point for business creativity in the North West.

The Sligo roundtable event comprised a select attendance of exporters from around the region, including such prominent names as Aurivo, Abbot Laboratories, Voya, Masonite and Portwest.

Chaired by Patrick Daly (IEA Supply Chain Series Chair & Managing Director of Alba Consulting Group) this was a highly interactive session, which addressed topical issues impacting exporters in the North West region and also provided participants with some practical insights into the challenges facing their fellow exporters, with a particular emphasis on the implications of BREXIT.

The feedback I have received from participants has been that they found this to be a very informative and useful event. One participant commented that he had taken away some really useful ideas that he was going to explore immediately, whilst another commented that it was a practical demonstration of UB adding value to their business by our participation in organising such an event locally.
