Farmers Come Together at Ulster Bank’s Building Capabilities Agriculture Event in Kilkenny

ba-blog-4

Ulster Bank were pleased to hold a Building Capabilities event for farmers and various agricultural stakeholders in the area on April 25th 2018.

Pat Deering TD and Chairman of the Oireachtas Committee on Agriculture, Food and the Marine started the event by giving all in attendance an update on various agricultural interests that had been discussed in Brussels the previous day. He and I then sat down for a fireside chat and he also did a Q&A session with the audience. Pat was very informative and open and honest in his opinions.

This was followed by a very interesting panel discussion lead by Anne-Marie Butler in Ulster Bank, Agri. The panel members were:

  • Stephen Trant, SME Banking Ulster Bank
  • Pat Fitzgerald, Fitzgerald Nurseries
  • PJ O Keeffe, Young Farmer of the Year 2017, Dairy Farmer, Co Kilkenny
  • Niall Flynn, New Dairy Farmer, Co Waterford

All of the panel members shared their personal experiences which was very valuable for everyone in the room. Declan Coffey of SME Banking, Ulster Bank then closed the event for us. This event highlighted to me the importance of continuing to have good open communications with our customers.
