Do you own a local company? You need just a few days to appear higher in Google.

Yes, I know that there are hundreds of SEO guidelines available online. You can find great pieces of advice at moz.com. You need to remember about these 20 factors and apply them to your company website. In order to rank higher in Google Maps, you need to familiarise yourself with the on-site optimization techniques (see the link above) and build citations. Let’s focus on the citations for now.

Where to start and which websites are worth submitting your company to? The majority of the online tutorials provide resources valid for the United States, which are useless for Ireland. That is why it is best to begin with the analysis of your competitors.

Look at the example of "wedding photographers" in Dublin: Google maps seven pack

Your citations must be consistent regarding NAP (name, address, phone number), so you may search for your competitors using one of the items. The phone number beside the first search result is "(01) 288 0755" – type that into Google using the quotes. What you get is cylex.ie, yabsta.ie and other sites. All you need to do now is check other photographers and submit your company to the websites they already appear on.

I recommend trying also other professions (SEO Dublin) or different cities (wedding photographers Cork) and adding your company to the sites they are already listed on.

It may also be a good idea to search for your own company phone number. Google is very precise and values NAP consistent listings. Keep the same format of your telephone number and address on every site. If your company name, phone number or address in any of the directories is different from your entry on plus.google.com, edit them as soon as possible.
