Business Women Can collaborates with The Kemmy Business School in University of Limerick.

A murky, foggy November evening didn’t stop the almost 50 business women and 2 very welcome gents in their tracks, attending a co hosted Business Women Can event on the University of Limerick Campus on Thursday night last.

The theme of the event was ‘Inspiring success – taking your business to the next level of growth’. The panel was made up of four very individual and diverse business women, who each spoke to the theme in a passionate and insightful way.

Vicki O’Toole, Managing Director of JJ O’Toole Packaging was the keynote speaker. Vicki took over the management of the Limerick-based packaging business in 2005. Under her leadership the fifth-generation family business continues to grow, expanding in to new markets and developing new ways of producing quality products. This year the Company celebrates 100 years in business. Other speakers at the event were Jean O’Sullivan of Enterprise Ireland, Bernie Moloney of the Limerick Enterprise Board and Theresa Mulvihill of TAMM Marketing.




Dr. Briga Hynes, Head of Entrepreneurship at the University of Limerick’s Kemmy Business School welcomed guests to the event. “UL and the Business School have an active track record of assisting entrepreneurs and owner-managers develop growth and internationalisation strategies and are eager to engage with female entrepreneurs in a more proactive manner. This type of collaborative initiative allows us to collectively assist in a more targeted manner local female entrepreneurs navigate their growth journey. She indicated that the ethos of the event was centred on ‘sharing, learning and networking for business growth’.

Speaking at the event was Fiona Kingston Programme Director, Business Women Can, Ulster Bank said: “We are delighted to support events like this where successful and dynamic business women can share their experiences and insights. Ulster Bank is a proud supporter of female entrepreneurship and we are always ready to support all businesses right across Ireland and connect with new businesses in the Mid West Region.

Delegates left inspired and motivated after the event and were encourage by Vicki O’Toole to embrace challenge and ‘Go see, Go Do, Go Finish’
