Business Still Struggling? Maybe It's Your Fault

We're living in the age of when everything bad, so bad, bigly bad, terrible, really terrible… is someone else's fault. So who's to blame if your business is not growing?

Maybe it's your fault.

Consider this? If you've been feverishly working away now for 1,2,3,4,5 years and the business is still struggling to grow revenues, you either have a turkey on your hands or you don't have the right management in place to lead the business.

Probably 90% of us…you…should not be the CEOs of our own companies. YOU…we probably do not have the training, the leadership skills, the experience, the strategic nuance - the management ability to lead and grow a business, if it's capable of being grown!

It's a case of either we think we do and all we need is a break OR we are unwilling to give up ANY control of the business and bring in stronger management. Ask any professional investor what its like negotiating an equity stake from a founder; the words blood and stone come to mind.

The Silicon Valley investment machine works, not just because of funding availability, but also because of the investors there ability to surround a good idea with a great management team. Founders are put into roles where they can excel - product development, key account management - and professional C level executives are brought in to grow the business and make money for all stakeholders, including founders.

If you are struggling to grow maybe its time to consider a change at the top.
