Business Achievers Awards Past Entrant Profile - Trilogy Technologies

In these past entrant profiles, we take a look at businesses that have previously entered the Business Achievers Awards and ask them a few questions about their businesses, stand out moments and words of advice they would like share with others. In this post we're talking to Pinnacle Worldwide.

Trilogy Technologies

Tell us a little bit about your business - What you do, the benefits of your product/service and what makes you unique to the competition. Trilogy Technologies has grown by more than 120 per cent in three years which has been achieved through acquisition, merger and a strong focus on building its customer base.  Established in 2009 and following the acquisition of IT Focus and merger of Team DBA, Trilogy has quickly grown through up-selling and cross-selling its ICT managed services and solutions and strengthening its brand presence.

Trilogy Technologies is one of Ireland’s leading independent ICT and managed services providers, serving clients including RDS, Largo Foods, Wellman International, Campion Insurance, Robert Roberts and Height for Hire.

Trilogy builds the technology expertise, business know-how and service support of a world-class IT department and applies that knowledge to their customers’ advantage. “We credit our achievements with our continued focus on delivering a competitive edge to our customers through innovative services”, explains Edel Creely, Managing Director at Trilogy.

“The company has developed a unique technology platform to support its clients’ infrastructure, which underpins its success in delivery first-class ICT management and support.”  This technology platform allows Trilogy to differentiate its services through its managed services portal, a highly functional, ‘window into an infrastructure’, providing real-time visibility of a client’s entire IT infrastructure, anywhere via a standard web browser.

Trilogy has successfully differentiated itself by partnering with key industry leaders and developing smart technology solutions. The company offers managed services and support along with a full range of ICT solutions including virtualisation, unified communications, ICT strategy consulting, cloud solutions, database management and security services.  “We help our clients operate more efficiently with systems that are appropriate for their business needs giving them increased flexibility and reduced costs,” continues Edel.

“We have as the core of our business model service delivery excellence and invest heavily in achieving and nurturing that capability. Trilogy invests heavily in R & D and the company’s continued focus on innovation is one of the drivers behind our progress and growth, which has allowed the company’s technologies and services to achieve an outstandingly competitive position within the market.”

What are the stand-out moments or highlights to date? In 2012 Trilogy achieved the ICT Excellence Award ‘Managed Service Company of the Year 2012’, was ranked in the MSP Mentor Top 100, listed in the Deloitte FAST 50 for the second time and of course a Leinster finalist in  the Ulster Bank Business Achievers Award.  Trilogy also appointed a Solutions Director with responsibility for business development of new managed services and cloud solutions for Trilogy clients to support the company’s rapid growth.

“We have seen significant growth in our managed services business as Irish organizations see the advantage in entrusting their ICT services to the Trilogy team,” adds Edel.  “The company continues to expand but the supply of IT professionals is considerably less than current demand especially in areas of higher skill and experience which has made it more difficult and time consuming to get the right people on board.”

If you could share an insight or top tip for SME’s / Emerging Entrepreneurs what would it be? Edel is very pragmatic when advising people about building a business.  “Keep focused on your core business and don’t become distracted.  Do the research, market your company's services, focus on your customers and what is truly important for the business.  Use your knowledge and experience and look for expertise from those who have the experience when you don’t. Look closely at your networks and key partnerships as a route to market which will enable you to be a success in whatever endeavor you pursue. Marketing, keeping the customers’ needs and goals a priority and a lot of hard work are very important for success.”
