British Irish Chamber Of Commerce Welcomes Government Announcement On Brexit Contingency Plan

The British Irish Chamber of Commerce welcomes the release of the Government’s Contingency Framework which identifies a number of key policy issues to be managed by Government Departments arising from today’s referendum vote in the UK.

The Chamber looks forward to working with our colleagues across Government and the Agencies on behalf of our members, in influencing the outcomes of the EU/UK negotiations in relation to their sector, through identifying and tracking policy issues which impact on members interests over the time horizon of the UK’s exit from the EU.

The British Irish Chamber of Commerce plays a vital role in maintaining the focus on the value of two-way trade between the United Kingdom and Ireland, for business, for our Governments and our communities. The Chamber believes that co-operation and coordination between Government, Agencies, Trade bodies and Business Representative Organisations is vital in placing companies with Irish and British interests in the best possible position during this period of uncertainty.British Irish Gateway for Trade

“The British Irish Chamber has today launched a new resource, the British Irish Gateway for Trade, for enterprises seeking help in identifying opportunities across Ireland and the United Kingdom. The Chamber remains committed to working closely with our members as they steer a path in this changed political and policy environment. We look forward to working with our members in the provision of information and guidance around the practical implications of the Brexit result”
