BehavioSec is a #businessachiever

Neil Costigan

I know Neil Costigan from old. When I was managing the Innovation Centre in DCU, Neil was one of my clients. A rare breed of combined academic and entrepreneur. In those days he was the CEO of Noretech, also focussing on security. A lovely, very understated guy with brians to burn.

CEO of BehavioSec

He moved to Sweden and became part of BehavioSec. In his own words “My role at BehavioSec has been an interesting journey. After casually meeting the founders when I was pursuing graduate studies and working as a guest researcher at Luleå Technical university, I became an angel and advisor. The great team and intriguing technology led me to join as 'part-time' CTO (24/7/365!) as I finished my PhD. My role involved international evangelising, seeking investment, and helping to 'productify' the idea. Finally, with my 'doctor hat' firmly in place, we raised a seed round, which is when my role evolved to CEO. I think the founder's strategy with that appointment as to keep me away from messing up the code.”

Behavioural biotech

The company is into behavioural biometrics, tacking fraud for large financial institutions. Clients include banks in Norway, Denmark and Sweden, which uses BehavioSec’s anti-fraud technology to secure its internet banking operations. Over 10 million internet banking are now protected by BehavioSec – nearly every internet banking user across these regions.

Raised 17.5 million dollars

They just raised $17.5M in Series B Funding. An overnight success after nearly 10 years of hard work. We are claiming him. For me Neil and BehaviseSec are #businessachievers.
